Google announced the program for the first time on Thursday, and will give $10,000 to every student who successfully completes a Google Summer Program program.
Students will be given access to the Google APIs, a new way to develop applications that can be used by the company’s services.
Google is looking to train hundreds of developers, many of whom will work on Android, and other areas of its business, including mobile computing.
Google announced its Summer of Coding program in August and has already been adding students.
